
9:21 a.m. – Kuwaiti army says it is responding to an Iranian attack
The Kuwaiti military said it was responding to Iranian missile and drone attacks, a day after Tehran fired shots at the Gulf state that hit a power plant and an oil facility.
“Air defenses are currently facing hostile missile and drone attacks, following Iran’s sinful aggression,” the army said in a statement, as warning sirens sounded in Kuwait City.
9:16 a.m. – US military says it has targeted perpetrators of attack
The American army announced that it had concluded its eighth consecutive night of strikes against Iran, and targeted the units which launched the attack which cost the lives of two of its soldiers in Jordan.
The United States targeted Iranian military sites as well as “Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces that launched attacks against members of the American forces in Jordan on July 17,” wrote the US Army Middle East Command (Centcom) in a statement.
9:10 a.m. – Iran attacks two bases in Kuwait
The Iranian army announced that it had attacked two military bases in Kuwait in response to American strikes against Iran, according to state television.
Iranian forces “launched large-scale attacks with suicide drones against the ammunition depot of the US armed forces at Camp Udairi, as well as against the Patriot radar system and the air surveillance radar at the Ali Al-Salem airbase in Kuwait,” state television wrote on Telegram.
