This year, we are celebrating 90 years of paid leave. In 1936, an “empty window” was opened in the lives of people, whose existence was then organized by the Church and work. The only rest was Sunday; and there was no empty window of one’s own. These two weeks of leave were therefore a considerable revolution. We have erected a new idea of time, nothing less. Besides, at the beginning, people from working-class circles were a little afraid: what were they going to do with this time? 90 years later, it’s exactly the opposite.
