In June 2023, white Susan Lorincz shot and killed her black neighbor, mother of four Ajike Owens, through her own closed front door. Lorincz claimed she acted in self-defense, but a documentary by Geeta Gandbhir shows a very different picture. The shooting was the sad culmination of months of arguments, in which Lorincz continued to treat her neighbors as intruders.
