Just a little patience and then we can finally check out the long-awaited Harry Potter series! The reboot of JK Rowling’s iconic series will be released at the end of this year. A cameraman from the new fantasy series now shares more about the recordings themselves. These turned out to be particularly difficult.

Strict rules

The recordings of the upcoming Harry Potterseries proved to be quite a challenge. This is what cameraman Adriano Goldman tells in conversation with director André Pilli in an interview (via ScreenRant). The fact that it was so complex had everything to do with the strict rules surrounding the young protagonists. “You have to film very quickly, and the faster you go, the more you compromise on quality. There’s no way around that, right?” said Goldman.

‘Very complicated’

“Of course we have a lot of resources, but it is grueling,” the cameraman continues. “The screen time the kids get makes it very difficult.” Goldman explains that the young actors, including Dominic McLaughlin, Alastair Stout and Arabella Stanton, were only on set for an hour and a half at a time, making filming quite chaotic. “It’s really difficult; you have to record everything in a different order because of that kind of planning. So the process is very complicated, but I’ve done it once now.”

On view at the end of this year

Harry Potter thinks he is very ordinary, until he receives an admission letter to the wizarding school Hogwarts on his eleventh birthday. A new world full of magic and friendship awaits him, but also a dangerous battle with an enemy from his past. The new version of Harry Potter we’ll see from there 25 december op HBO Max.
