Netflix shares the trailer for the fifth and final season of Outer Banks (2020– ). John B, Sarah, Pope, Kiara and Cleo have sunk further than ever after losing their best friend JJ in the previous final.
Grieving and broke
JJ died at the hands of his own father, Groff, at the end of season four. In the new season, the Pogues, including Rafe, are traumatized, broke and homeless. In addition, John B struggles with the realization that he is becoming a father and must face the consequences of his own actions.
New plan
Yet the Pogues do not simply give up. The trailer shows them hatching a plan to capture Groff and take back the enchanted Blue Crown. Legend has it that the crown can bring the dead back to life, something that offers the Pogues a glimmer of hope.

Heavier than ever
The trailer is packed with dangerous stunts: a motorcycle riding off a cliff, a climb to the top of a tall tower, sailing through a heavy storm, knife fights and explosions. Chase Stokes calls this final season the toughest to film so far, physically, emotionally and mentally, he tells Tudum.
Release date
The fifth and final season of Outer Banks is from 20 augustus available on Netflix. This brings an end to one of the most popular Netflix series of recent years after six years.
