Amazon MGM Studios has released an official trailer for The Thomas Crown Affair (2027), the new version of the classic heist film. Michael B. Jordan directs, produces and stars as an art thief, who is hunted by an ex-FBI agent in the trailer.
A more personal take on a classic
It is already the third film adaptation of the story, after the original The Thomas Crown Affair (1968) with Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway and the remake The Thomas Crown Affair (1999) with Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo. These films revolved around rich white men stealing for fun, something Jordan believes will no longer catch on today. In his version, Crown is given a more personal motivation: the stolen works of art ultimately return to their rightful creators.
