Parsley and cilantro are under investigation due to another parasitic outbreak that causes diarrhea in the United States, several media outlets reported Tuesday.

These two types of grass “recurred regularly” in the testimonies of patients who fell ill in North Carolina, just like lettuce during the first epidemic, the US Department of Health and Human Services said during a press briefing last week.
Authorities did not say where the patients ate before becoming ill or how many cases were linked to each ingredient, the Daily Mail.
As of Tuesday, North Carolina has recorded 561 cases of cyclosporosis, the intestinal parasite that causes diarrhea, and 16 hospitalizations linked to this disease, according to information from the British media.
Le Journal reported last Friday that Quebec has 250% more cases of cyclosporosis than last year. A family doctor from Estrie, however, wanted to be reassuring on QUB radio, saying that there is “no terrible concern” to have in the province.
Across the United States, nearly 7,000 cases were confirmed about two weeks ago. Several states are affected, ranging from Ohio and Kentucky to Indiana and Michigan. It is also in the latter state that the greatest number of cases are reported, with 6,571 infections recorded.
