If you enjoyed watching the first two seasons of Interview with the Vampire (2022– ), then the streaming service is releasing a very welcome addition today. The series was added last fall after a deal with the American channel AMC, and now season three has also been released.
A story of centuries
Interview with the Vampire tells the story of Louis de Pointe du Lac, a man who is transformed into an immortal being by the charismatic vampire Lestat in the early 20th century. In a series of conversations with a journalist, Louis reflects on his eternal life of temptation, guilt and hunger for humanity, while his complex relationship with Lestat becomes increasingly dark and destructive.
A different perspective
The season premiered in the US last month, and shifts the focus from Louis to Lestat (the season was therefore also promoted as The Vampire Lestat). The episodes pick up on Louis’ revelations to journalist Daniel Molloy, which raised the question of how Lestat views this. In this season, the vampire provides an insight into his mind and his existence as an exuberant rock god. Sam Reid and Jacob Anderson play the two main characters from the start.
