The appointment of Senator LR François-Noël Buffet, proposed by Emmanuel Macron to the post of Defender of Rights to replace Claire Hédon, was ratified on Tuesday July 21 by parliamentarians, despite strong opposition from the associative world.
The candidacy of François-Noël Buffet, which could have been blocked if the negative votes had represented at least 3/5th of all the votes cast in the law committees of the Senate and the National Assembly, was approved by 43 votes to 39, announced the vice-president of the law committee of the lower house.
