Summer series: 1966, pop music year
The Rolling Stones were already international stars when Aftermath was released in the United Kingdom on April 15, 1966, before the release of its American version, quite different, two months later, on June 20. The group already collects hits, notably the insatiable (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction released the previous year. In February, the Stones performed it on the Ed Sullivan Show in front of 60 million Americans, before making it the finale of their concert at the Olympia on March 29.
