Prince Harry, youngest son of King Charles III, will travel to London next week without his wife Meghan or their two children, Archie and Lilibet, a source close to the Duke of Sussex told AFP.

The visit, initially announced with his wife and children, was to be their first to the UK as a family in four years. No reason was given by this source for the absence of Meghan and the two children in London.
However, she left the possibility that the family would end up in a city in the United Kingdom, outside London. According to the TimesHarry will arrive in the British capital on Monday and will stay in the United Kingdom for five days.
The couple, who have lived in California since 2020 after their shattering break with the royal family, planned this trip as part of the preparations for the Invictus Games which are to be held in 2027 in Birmingham (central England).
The Invictus Games were created under the patronage of Prince Harry for injured or ill veterans from around 25 countries.
But the British media have been reporting for several days Prince Harry’s dissatisfaction with the lack of police protection for him and his family. The BBC reported last week that the prince had made a formal request for police protection, but this was refused.

This issue constitutes a major point of tension between him and the royal family.
By leaving the latter, Harry and Meghan lost the systematic police protection provided for working members of the Windsors and paid for by the British taxpayer, the Home Office having opted for protection on a case-by-case basis.
The prince had challenged this doctrine in court and was dismissed.
Saturday, the newspaper The Sun reported that the prince and his family still hoped to make the trip “in some form.” Citing a source close to the couple, the tabloid claims that Harry and Meghan had planned to visit a London hospital together, but that the prince will now go there alone “for security reasons”.
The BBC previously reported that the Duke and his family had been invited by Charles III to use a royal residence.
Coincidentally, the prince’s visit will coincide with the delivery of a judgment, expected on Tuesday, in the case he initiated with other celebrities against the owner of the Daily Mail, concerning alleged illegal information collection.
Prince Harry has returned to the United Kingdom several times. And he saw King Charles III twice: in February 2024 and in September 2025.
