A while back the second season of Supacell (2024– ) has been completed, and now that post-production is in full swing, we receive news about a memorable cast expansion. The British superhero series welcomes two new actresses in the new episodes.
Delay
The production of the follow-up season certainly did not go smoothly, as filming only started last fall months after it was originally supposed to start. Supacell garnered an enthusiastic response in 2024, starring Tosin Cole, Nadine Mills, Josh Tedeku, Adelayo Adedayo and Eric Kofi Abrefa, among others.
The story of the Netflix hit revolves around five black South Londoners who discover that they have one important thing in common: they suddenly have superpowers that they cannot easily identify. For the expected second season, Koby Adom already joined the crew as director, alongside creator Rapman, but there is also news about the cast.
A rookie and a veteran
Christie Fewry and Rhoda Ofori-Attah will appear in the new episodes in roles about which not too much is known yet. It does seem to involve prominent, permanent roles. If Fewry’s name doesn’t shine a light, that’s not surprising: the young actress has so far only made a name for herself in the theater world, has just completed a training course there and is now about to make her big television debut. Ofori-Attah is a lot better known: she played Monifa Sunday in the psychological thriller series You (2018–2025) and was also in Sex Education (2019–2023) and the canceled one Shadow and Bone (2021–2023).

7.0 Watch on Netflix • A group of people from South London suddenly gain superpowers, with no apparent connection between them other than their black heritage.
Due to the postponed recordings it is unlikely that we will Supacell will be back in 2026, but a release sometime in 2027 should certainly be possible. We will of course keep you informed of a release date.
