On his way back from school, the choreographer Sung-im Her’s son expressed his sadness to him. “We had spoken to him in class about climate change and I could see that it had struck him. I too became aware of this worrying world that was offered to her…” The artist, aged 43, then decided to take on the environmental subject, “on my scale, with my own weapons”. Thus was born 1 Degree Celsius, a show for seven dancers, including Sung-im Her herself, who “seeks to show how our body, organic and in flexible harmony with nature, has become angular, productive and urban”.
