China increases its pressure on Japan by restricting its exports of rare earths

Between China and Japan, neighborly relations have never been calmer. Faithful to the practices of their ancestors, the two Asian giants are going through a period of diplomatic tensions of rare intensity. The Chinese authorities announced on Monday June 29 the expansion of measures prohibiting imports of products likely to have military uses towards dozens of Japanese entities, which corresponds de facto to the impossibility of importing Chinese rare earths. China also confirmed the arrest of two Japanese businessmen in the northeast of the country, suspected of organizing a network smuggling these banned minerals.
