Netflix just shared the first teaser of the 5th and final season of the hit series Outer Banks (2020– ), which shows John B. watching in horror as Cleo blows up his beloved van. The teaser also reveals that the new season will launch late this summer, almost two years after Season 4 premiered in October 2024.

In Season 5, the Pogues find themselves at their absolute breaking point after the tragic loss of JJ in Morocco. Scattered, far from home and grieving for the hearts of their crew, they have lost the Blue Crown and continue to face a series of familiar threats. With Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crane) still at large, Dalia and the Corsairs closing in, and the Kooks leaving the Pogues without a home to return to, John B (Chase Stokes), Sarah (Madelyn Cline), Kiara (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), and Cleo (Carlacia Grant) must rely on their fighting spirit and an uneasy alliance with Rafe (Drew Starkey) to prevent that they fall apart forever. Their mission is now a desperate race to reclaim their future and finally win the freedom they have been chasing since the beginning. It’s the Pogues against the world as they seek revenge for their best friend and bring it to a close… one last time.

Throughout its four seasons so far, the series has been a ratings success, ranking in the Netflix Top 10 of English-language TV shows 25 times. The series has also grown into ‘Poguelandia’, a popular live event for fans.
