A Russian warship fired warning shots at a British yacht on Tuesday in the English Channel. Many now wonder if Russia had authorization.

“The question everyone is asking: is this destroyerthis boat, […] shot with permission from the highest peak? The best intuition is no,” said Stéphan Bureau, political collaborator at TVA News.
The British Ministry of Defense has confirmed that all is well, that there are no injuries, deaths or material damage.
In the afternoon, the circumstances behind this incident remained unclear.
“It is the yacht which probably came very close to the Russian vessel with the presumption, perhaps on the part of the Russians, because it has often been seen, of an operation by the Ukrainians,” explained Mr. Bureau.
Hidden operation or simple curious tourists: we do not yet know the intention of the people on board the yacht.
Stéphan Bureau also discussed the reasons which could explain the presence of the Russian ship in the Channel.
“I don’t think we’re talking about a diplomatic incident,” he said. This comes after the boarding of a Russian ship from the ghost tanker fleet by the English. »
“So there were some who said to themselves, is this a tit for tat ? Is this the Russian response? Possibly. I rather think that it is perhaps a boat which is there precisely to escort some of these ships of the ghost fleet, since the Russians no longer want to be boarded,” added the collaborator.
