Intrigue, a lot of action and a good sense of humor. That seems pretty much what we can expect from Ride or Die (2026), a newcomer from Prime Video that will appear on the streaming service this summer. In the brand new trailer we see Oscar winner Octavia Spencer and her co-star starring as hitmen.
Discovery of size
Debbie (Spencer) and Judith (Hannah Waddingham from Ted Lasso (2020– )) think they know everything about each other, but there appears to be one mystery that they only unravel in a hectic moment: the two are both hitmen. When someone from Judith’s past reappears and a mission goes completely wrong, the two women are suddenly forced to flee together. What follows is a dangerous road trip through Europe, with both the police and professional hitmen hot on their trail.
Spencer in the spotlight
Ride or Die was created by Tessa Coates and features a nice battery of well-known actors, because in addition to the two leading actresses we can also see the experienced Bill Nighy (Living (2022)), the Dutch Sylvia Hoeks (Blade Runner 2049 (2017)) and Ed Skrein (Jurassic World Rebirth (2025)) in the series. It is the first major series role in years for 56-year-old Spencer; This year the actress appeared in season 2 of the Netflix series Running Point (2025– ).
