Puppy lovers are in for a treat with newly revealed images of Scooby-Doo: Origins. The live-action adaptation of the franchise has been in the works for a while, but until now we had no idea what the dog-puppy at the center of the new story would look like. Today the streaming service officially introduces the beast.
Very first thing
Scooby-Doo: Origins will be released on Netflix next year and is about the very first case that brought the investigators together. At its center is a lost Great Dane puppy who may have witnessed a supernatural murder. Together with the smart and scientifically minded Velma and the mysterious but charming newcomer Freddy, old friends Shaggy and Daphne try to discover the truth. What starts as a riddle quickly grows into a dark adventure that threatens to expose their secrets.

“Scooby has finally become reality,” reads the cheerful reel on the streaming service’s Instagram, in which we see the puppy together with protagonist Tanner Hagen (Shaggy):
The reel shows how the beloved dog runs through the woods and encounters his new ‘partner in crime’. The cast of the live-action series was previously announced and, in addition to Hagen and the pup, includes Maxwell Jenkins, Abby Ryder Fortson and Mckenna Grace. Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg are the creators and screenwriters.
