The brother of Jérôme B., the main suspect in the death of Lyhanna, also residing in Gers, was placed in police custody on Monday June 8, as part of an investigation into rape of a minor, rape by a spouse, kidnapping and threats, we learned from the Auch public prosecutor’s office.
“At 10:25 a.m., the Auch police station placed the brother of Jérôme B. in police custody (…) on charges of rape of a minor over 15 years old, rape by a spouse, kidnapping and repeated death threats by a spouse,” declared the Auch prosecutor, Clémence Meyer, in a press release, confirming information from BFMTV. The acts were committed between 2007 and 2017, specifies the prosecution.
In pre-trial detention since June 1, Jérôme B. was indicted for the kidnapping of Lyhanna, an 11-year-old schoolgirl, who was found dead Thursday on the premises of an abandoned farm, 15 km from the place of her disappearance.
On Sunday, a white march in tribute to Lyhanna brought together several thousand people in Fleurance, around the schoolgirl’s family.
