
Around twenty families are already ready to take the step of “long-term and voluntary” reception of a child or adolescent entrusted to child welfare (ASE). This system, launched in April, is aimed at non-professional families who wish to take care of a young person in danger under their roof. In Loire-Atlantique, where reports have increased by 14% since 2020, 9,200 children are monitored by the ASE, of which 3,800 are placed – with professional family assistants, in children’s homes or villages – and 5,400 benefit from a measure of educational assistance at home.
