
The fire risk is moving north. In Loiret, neighboring the Fontainebleau forest, more than 2,000 hectares of which have been ravaged by flames, firefighters are on maximum alert. Under the onslaught of the sun’s rays, which were too strong, drought set in prematurely, placing the entirety of this rural department covered by two vast forest areas – the Orléans forest and Sologne – under the threat of extraordinary fires.
