Warner Bros. Pictures has secured the rights to a horror film based on Siren Head, Trevor Henderson’s viral internet phenomenon, after a fierce bidding war. The character, a tall, skeletal creature with two sirens for a head, grew into a true internet obsession.
Cregger and Duffield join forces
What makes the project extra attractive is the talent present. Zach Cregger, known for Weapons (2025) in Barbarian (2022), co-writes the script with Brian Duffield, who has written films such as The Babysitter (2017) in No One Will Save You (2023) wrote. Duffield will direct the film, while Cregger will serve as producer.
Van internetmeme…
Siren Head was created in 2018 by Canadian artist Henderson as a drawing of a mysterious creature. Since then, the character has grown into a phenomenon with fan videos, theories, games and merchandise. The figure was estimated to have received billions of views on social media such as TikTok and YouTube.
… to a cinema hit
The deal follows the trend of Backrooms (2026), the film that showed that internet memes are excellent material for a cinema film with an opening weekend of 81.4 million dollars. Also Curry Barker, director of Obsession (2025), managed to build a large following through social media.
Further details, such as a release date, are not yet known.
