
The smell of cachupa is already wafting through the room even though it is not yet dinner time. At the back of the Le Cap-Vert restaurant, in Clichy (Hauts-de-Seine), employees are busy in front of a newly installed giant screen. Blue, white and red flags, adorned with stars, were hung on the walls. On the counter, a pile of scarves in the colors of the selection awaits regulars. In a few hours, there won’t be a free chair left. “Reservations are always complicated, first come, first served,” smiles Jessica Da Veiga Correia, the owner of the place. “It’s an event that everyone is waiting for. We are used to broadcasting matches, sometimes even from Cape Verde, but this is obviously different. »
