
Yoon Suk-yeol, who had already been sentenced to life imprisonment, received an additional thirty years in prison. Since his failed attempt to trigger martial law in December 2024, the former president of South Korea, aged 64, has seen his sentence increase gradually through a multi-layered procedure. He was thus once again convicted, Friday June 12, 2026, at first instance, for sending drones to North Korea, three months before his coup.
