In a report which must still be discussed on Thursday June 11, 2026, the Pension Orientation Council updates its forecasts in light of the latest demographic projections from INSEE. He estimates that, to safeguard the balance of the pay-as-you-go system, it will be necessary to raise the average retirement age to 67.6 years in 2070, compared to 63.1 years today.
