
After two months of fragile truce, the verbal escalation between Iran and the American-Israeli tandem turned into military escalation, following a relatively predictable chain reaction. Tehran, for which Israeli strikes on Beirut constituted a red line, targeted the Hebrew state on Sunday and Monday, after the Israeli army struck the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital, in response to Hezbollah fire targeting northern Israel. All in violation of the ceasefire theoretically in force.
