
Sasha Pieterse, best known as Allison from the popular series Pretty Little Liars (2010–2017) has the leading role in Rosemarya new psychological thriller that tells the gripping life story of Rosemary Kennedy from her own perspective.
The tragic story of Rosemary Kennedy
Rosemary Kennedy was the sister of President John F. Kennedy. As a young girl she struggled with developmental problems and later also with behavioral problems. At the age of 23, at the insistence of her father Joseph P. Kennedy Sr., a lobotomy was performed. The procedure had lasting consequences and left her permanently disabled. Rosemary then spent most of her life in a care facility in the US state of Wisconsin, where she lived largely separated from her family for years. She died in 2005 at the age of 86.
Experienced names behind the scenes
The film is supported by producer Mike Medavoy, known for successful films such as Black Swan (2010) in Shutter Island (2010). The screenplay and direction are by Cory Todd Hughes and Adrian Speckert. The duo previously worked on, among other things Under Fire (2025) in Armor (2024).
Familiar face from Pretty Little Liars
For Pieterse means Rosemary another striking leading role. The actress achieved worldwide fame as Alison DiLaurentis in Pretty Little Liars and later returned as the same character in the spin-offPretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists (2019).
