A brotherhood is a group of lay people and clerics linked by a common commitment. That of Saint Anne is the heir of the Royal Brotherhood of Sainte-Anne-d’Auray, created in 1641, shortly after the apparitions of 1623 (from Saint Anne to a local peasant, Yvon Nicolazic Editor’s note).
