9:56 a.m. – Kuwait: one dead in Iranian strike
The Kuwaiti Defense Ministry announced that an Iranian strike that hit a building belonging to a Chinese company in the north of the country had left one person dead.
“The heinous Iranian aggression targeted a building belonging to a Chinese company in the north of the country, resulting in the death of a worker and causing significant material damage to the building,” the ministry said in a statement.
9:34 a.m. – US-Iran negotiations “ongoing”
Pakistan, mediator country between the United States and Iran, announced that negotiations were underway between the two countries, engaged in a resumption of hostilities in the Middle East. “Negotiations between the parties are underway, in particular regarding the Strait of Hormuz and in order to achieve de-escalation,” Pakistani diplomatic spokesperson Tahir Andrabi told the press in Islamabad.
8:06 a.m. – Jordan announces it has intercepted five Iranian missiles
The Jordanian army announced that its air defense had shot down five missiles fired from Iran and aimed at the territory of the kingdom, specifying that the attack had not caused any casualties.
“The missiles were detected, intercepted and shot down in accordance with defense plans,” said a spokesperson for the Jordanian army quoted in a statement, in the midst of the resumption of hostilities between the United States and Iran.
7:49 a.m. – Three dead in Qeshm in American strikes
The Iranian Fars agency announced that three people from the same family were killed and two others injured in American strikes on the island of Qeshm, in the south of the country.
“An American attack on a residential house in the Chah Tangu district of Qeshm killed three members of the same family: the father, the mother and their 2-year-old child,” Fars wrote on Telegram, citing the Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences. “Two other children, aged 7 and 9, were injured in the attack and taken to hospital,” she added.
7:35 a.m. – A “heavy” series of strikes against Iran
The US Middle East Command (Centcom) announced that it had completed a “heavy series” of strikes on Iran, which it accused of attacking its forces in the Middle East.
The US military has “strike dozens of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targets in Iran, including military command centers, missile and drone installations, coastal surveillance and defense sites, and maritime capabilities. These strikes were intended to further reduce the threats that Iran and its proxies pose to U.S. forces, commercial shipping, and neighboring Gulf countries,” Centcom wrote in a statement on X.
