For the third year in a row, asylum applications in Europe are falling. In 2025, 669,365 people applied for asylum for the first time in a European Union country. This is 27% less than in 2024, according to Eurostat figures cited in the “State of asylum in the world and in France”, published by the Forum Refugees association, Tuesday July 28.
