A Ukrainian strike on a Russian-occupied town in southern Ukraine has killed eight people, including two children, the Moscow-appointed official who heads the Russian-controlled part of Ukraine’s Zaporizhia region said Saturday.

Yevgeny Balitski said that “tourist camps” in the village of Kyrylivka, on the Sea of Azov, had been attacked overnight, adding: “there are dead: eight people, including two children.”
Mr Balitsky said 14 other people, including three children, had been injured and that rescue operations were continuing.
He accused Ukraine of “deliberately” hitting civilians.
The village fell to Russian forces in the first days of the offensive against Ukraine in 2022. There has been an increase in civilian casualties in the war between Russia and Ukraine this summer, as both sides have intensified their attacks.
