Despite quite a few scathing reviews The Hawk (2026– ) has become one of the most popular series on Netflix at the moment. The comedy series with Will Ferrell is high in the top 10, but not everyone understands why. While critics are slamming the series en masse, many fans are hoping for a second season.
Straight to the top
The Hawk needed only four days to reach first place in the American Netflix top 10. In the first week alone, the series attracted 4.8 million viewers. Netflix itself is very satisfied with this strong start. Unfortunately, there are also some less enthusiastic ones. On Rotten Tomatoes, the series has to make do with a measly score of 27-30%, one of the lowest ratings of Ferrell’s career. Fortunately, the general public is a bit more enthusiastic and goes for 64-65%.
Season 2 forecast
Although Netflix has not yet announced a second season, the first signals are cautiously positive. The viewing figures are admittedly lower than previous Netflix comedies such as FUBAR (2023–2025), but fortunately the series was made on a relatively low budget. The cost per episode would be around 5-7 million dollars, a bargain compared to series like Stranger Things (2016–2025) (up to $30 million) and One Piece (2023– ) ($18 million).
