Summer series: Trip to the Baronnies of the Pyrenees
There are memories that come back, of course. Those of a similarly rural childhood, in another corner of the Pyrenees, in the depths of Haute-Garonne, and at another time, the 1970s. Around 700 inhabitants in the village, still businesses then, a grocery store, a newsagent and tobacco seller, the inevitable bar in the center of the village. And especially school, primary and elementary. With recreation in the open air, like everything else, spreading out in nature, far from parents, by bike or on foot, playing ball or cowboys and Indians, spending whole days in the trees, amazed.
