The Prince and Princess of Wales released a never-before-seen photo of Prince George on Wednesday to mark his 13th birthday.
Dressed in a white shirt and a navy blue suit, the young boy now displays the features of a teenager. In the photo, he appears relaxed, with a small smile and his hands in his pockets.
“Happy 13th birthday, George”, we can read in the caption of the photo published on the social networks of the Prince and Princess of Wales. The Princess of Wales also shared a short video montage of her son in which he can be seen laughing and playing outside.
“Prince George is officially a teenager!” […] This moment marks the start of a new chapter for George, who will enter Eton College this fall, following in the footsteps of his father, Prince William,” we can also read on Prince George’s Facebook page.
The photograph was taken by Matt Porteous at Kensington Palace after the Trooping the Color parade last month.
Tradition dictates that the Prince and Princess of Wales mark their children’s birthdays by sharing a new photo.
Prince George, born July 22, 2013, is second in line to the British throne, behind his father, Prince William.
