“Sounds of Silence”, when Simon & Garfunkel reinvent harmonies

For Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, Sounds of Silence is the album of a rebirth. The two childhood friends have been making music together since, at age 11, they performed songs from Disney’s adaptation of Alice in Wonderland at their school in Queens, New York. As teenagers, they started out as a folk voice-guitar duo on songs written by Paul Simon. But they have separated since their first record, Wednesday Morning 3 AM, released in 1964, was a blast. Yet, they rage, it contains great songs including Bleecker Street and The Sound of Silence.
