Netflix has published its latest What We Watched report, which is the latest overview of the most watched titles of the past six months. From next year, the streaming service will switch to annual viewership reports. Netflix has been transparent about viewing figures since 2023. These are the three most watched Netflix series since then.
Squid Game – season 3
In third place Squid Game (2021–2025) season 3. The final part of the South Korean mega hit only appeared in June 2025, but has since collected 155.8 million views. This makes it the third most-watched Netflix series of the past four years.

Adolescence
Second place is for Adolescence (2025– ). The much-discussed miniseries by Stephen Graham and Jack Thorne grew into a worldwide phenomenon last year with 171.6 million viewers. Not only series enthusiasts, but also teachers, parents, educators and politicians used the series to discuss topics such as online radicalization and social media.

Squid Game – season 2
Number one leaves little room for doubt. Squid Game season 2 achieved a whopping 225.4 million views, finishing more than 54 million views ahead of the number two. Together the three seasons are of Squid Game since 2023, it has racked up almost half a billion views, once again underscoring the franchise’s status as the biggest Netflix series of all time.
Remarkable
Perhaps the biggest surprise, however, is who isn’t in the top three. Many viewers expected at least one season of Stranger Things (2016–2025) would achieve a podium place. That appears not to be the case. The fifth and final season is the most popular season of the series with 149.1 million views, but has to settle for fifth place.

Stranger Things (2016‑2025)
Watch on Netflix • After a little boy disappears under very suspicious circumstances, mysterious things come to light in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana in the 1980s, including secret experiments, supernatural forces and a strange girl.
Also the absence of Virgin River (2019– ) stands out. The romantic drama series has been one of Netflix’s biggest audience favorites for years and will even release an eighth season later this year. However, no season has appeared in the top 20 most watched series since 2023. This underlines that Virgin River may not achieve record-breaking viewing figures, but mainly excels in its consistent popularity over a long period of time.
