7:36 a.m. – Guardians announce attack on Al-Tanf military base in Syria
The Revolutionary Guards, Iran’s ideological army, announced on Friday that they had attacked the Al-Tanf military base in southeastern Syria, according to state television.
The Guards aviation “carried out a surprise attack on the enemy’s special operations command center in the Al-Tanf region of Syria,” state television wrote on Telegram. The United States announced in February that it had withdrawn from the Al-Tanf base and ceded control to the Syrian army.
6:46 a.m. – Army repels missile attack in Doha
Qatar announced overnight from Thursday to Friday that its army had repelled a missile attack, after journalists heard explosions in the capital Doha.
“The Ministry of Defense (…) announces that the armed forces intercepted a missile attack targeting the State of Qatar,” the ministry wrote in a statement published on X.
