
Between the name of the father and that of the mother, more and more French people no longer want to choose. According to a study by the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (Insee), published Thursday July 16, double names are increasing in France. Among the 644,000 children born in the territory last year, 15.1% received the names of both parents compared to 10.3% in 2014. Nearly 80% bear only the father’s name, and the remaining 6.8% that of the mother, most of the latter having only been recognized by the latter.
