President Donald Trump will solemnly address Americans on Thursday, in a speech focused on the vulnerabilities he says affect the United States electoral system.

The 80-year-old leader may have been elected twice to the White House, in 2016 and 2024, but he continues to repeat – without providing evidence – that American voting processes are corrupt to the detriment of Republicans. He claims to have also won the 2020 election.
Mr. Trump promised a “very strong announcement” during this speech scheduled for 9 p.m.
But his opponents fear that this speech will in fact serve to bring general discredit to the electoral system, in order to be able to cast doubt, next November, on the result of the mid-term elections, which promise to be difficult for his camp.
“The truth is, no one knows what the president is going to say in the end, which is why everyone should listen to him,” said White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, interviewed by CBS.
According to the news channel, Mr. Trump could raise unprecedented accusations of Chinese interference in the elections in the United States, and the idea that these acts could have compromised the integrity of past elections.
It is possible that the octogenarian decides to address other burning subjects, and in particular the Iranian quagmire in which his administration seems to be getting more bogged down every day.
The conflict in the Middle East shows no sign of calming and the Strait of Hormuz is almost paralyzed, a situation carrying a big economic and political cost for the Republican leader.

The heads of the CIA, the Federal Police (FBI), as well as the heads of the Intelligence and Homeland Security services will be present around the master of the White House when he speaks.
“It’s impossible to have a country without free and fair elections,” Donald Trump said on Tuesday, in response to a question about the content to expect from his intervention.
The pseudo-violations of the fairness of elections in the United States are a subject that has haunted Donald Trump for years, even though countless experts, independent institutes and court decisions have concluded that there was no massive fraud.
The billionaire, who never accepted his defeat to Joe Biden in 2020, has in recent months accused Democrats of attempts to rig the crucial midterm elections, which could see Republicans lose their slim majority in Congress.
Donald Trump knows that such an eventuality would put him at risk of a third impeachment procedure launched by the Democrats, after having escaped two firsts during his first term, including one for “incitement to insurrection” after the assault on the Capitol by his supporters on January 6, 2021.
Donald Trump’s last major television address dates back to April 1, when the Republican president tried to justify the war in Iran, more than a month after the start of the Israeli-American strikes.
