The Minister of the Economy Roland Lescure decided, Wednesday, July 15, to increase the rate of the Livret A to 1.7%, against 1.5% currently, and to maintain that of the Livret d’épargne populaire, reserved for low-income households, at 2.5%.
“Faced with contained but real inflation, and the uncertainties linked to the crisis in the Middle East, I decided to increase the Livret A rate to 1.7%,” declared Roland Lescure, quoted in a press release. This decision, in line with the recommendation made earlier in the day by the Banque de France, will come into force on August 1.
