The universe of horror slasher Friday the 13th is expanding with the arrival of Crystal Lake (2026). This prequel series, which will be released in the United States on Peacock, follows single mother Pamela Voorhees a year after the death of her son Jason. The first teaser can now be seen.

The film series Friday the 13th already has many parts – in total the franchise consists of twelve films. That beloved series of horror slashers is expanded with the arrival of Crystal Lakea series set before the events of the original Friday the 13th from 1980 plays. The new prequel stars Linda Cardellini and Callum Vinson and the first trailer has now been shared.
Where goes Crystal Lake over?
Crystal Lake follows single mother Pam Voorhees. She cannot shake her grief after her young son Jason tragically drowned in a nearby lake a year earlier. When two complete strangers show up at her door and are a little too curious about her past, it unleashes a series of disturbing events. The residents of Crystal Lake begin to wonder who Pam Voorhees really is…

Release date
Along with the trailer, Peacock is also announcing a release date. Published in the United States Crystal Lakeco-produced by A24, on October 15. A Dutch release date is not known and unfortunately we do not yet know where the new horror series will appear.
