It’s an ensemble film in the form of a puzzle. Its characters speak, move, seek answers in a winter Paris flown over by a strange comet. It seems motionless above these existences in perpetual and perhaps vain movement. A majority of these protagonists rehearse Chekhov’s Three Sisters together under the aegis of Gabrielle (Anne-Lise Heimburger). Hit by the breakup imposed on her by her partner, a member of her troupe, the director falters.
