
The image of Pedro Sanchez alongside Emmanuel Macron, this Tuesday July 14, for the military parade on the Champs-Élysées, will be the symbol of the political and diplomatic friendship of Spain and France. Even a few hours before the semi-final of the World Cup which will pit the two countries against each other in the evening. The image could have been perfect if the great treaty of friendship and cooperation, signed between the two countries on January 19, 2023 in Barcelona, had been ratified across the Pyrenees. In France, this treaty was adopted without incident by the National Assembly in March 2025. But on the Spanish side, the process is stuck.
