
The Kremlin denounces a “war coalition”
The Kremlin on Monday, July 13, castigated the meeting of mainly European countries supporting Ukraine which is to be held in Paris, speaking of a “coalition of warmongers” and describing the possibility of a defeat for Russia as “a profound illusion”.
“This is a coalition of crazy people and warmongers (…) who are deluding themselves about the possibility of inflicting a strategic defeat on our country,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Peskov told journalists including AFP. He added that Moscow will “closely follow” the decisions that will be taken during this meeting in France.
Four dead, seven injured in strike in Russia
Drone attacks killed three people and injured five others in the Moscow region, local governor Andrei Vorobyov announced.
“In the Pionersky locality in Istra, three people were killed and three others injured by a falling drone (…) In Solnechnogorsk, two people were injured after a drone hit an apartment building,” he wrote on Telegram.
Fire in Russian industrial zone
A Ukrainian attack near the Russian city of Stavropol (southwest) caused a fire in an industrial zone, without causing any casualties at this stage, the regional governor said.
“An enemy drone attack in the vicinity of Stavropol is being repelled. The attack sparked a fire in the industrial zone of the village of Vyazniki, Shpakovsky district,” Governor Vladimir Vladimirov wrote on Telegram, specifying that no casualties have been reported at this stage. In Moscow, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported 11 drones shot down overnight as they headed towards the capital.
