On January 13, 2012, the luxury cruise ship Costa Concordia departed from Civitavecchia, Italy, with more than 4,000 people on board. That night things went horribly wrong when Captain Francesco Schettino deviated from course to pay a ‘salute’ to the island of Giglio. Due to miscommunication on the bridge, the ship hit the rocks, resulting in a disastrous shipwreck.
