The battle for water is at the heart of the agricultural emergency law. Debate in the Joint Joint Commission (CMP), from July 16, the text shakes up the administrative structure – oh so complex – of water management in France. In the name of a form of higher agricultural interest, the text plans to review the established balances, fueling tensions among other actors. “We solemnly call on the government, parliamentarians and members of the CMP to remove all the provisions relating to water drawn up urgently, under the sole prism of agriculture,” declares Nicolas Juillet, vice-president of France Eau publique.
