
What does the foot represent in the Hebrew Bible?
“How beautiful are the feet of him who proclaims peace!” », proclaims the prophet Isaiah (52, 7). Very present in the Bible, the foot is closely linked to the notions of humility and purity. When God calls Moses to approach the burning bush, he orders him to go barefoot: “Take off your sandals, for this place on which you stand is holy ground” (Exodus 3:5).
