Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was buried early Friday in Mashhad, state television reported.
The ceremony took place without the apparent presence of his son and successor, Mojtaba Khamenei, according to images broadcast by Irib.
Syria says Damascus blasts were ‘affiliated with Islamic State’
A security official in Syria said Thursday that the cell responsible for two bomb attacks in Damascus during a visit by French President Emmanuel Macron was “affiliated with the Islamic State” (IS) group.

Military installation near Bushehr hit by Iran strike
A military installation near the town of Bushehr (south), which houses Iran’s only active nuclear power plant, was targeted by a strike, the official IRNA agency said on Thursday.
“A military installation in the vicinity of Bushehr was attacked and hit by a projectile from the American-Zionist enemy (Israeli, Editor’s note),” declared the deputy governor of this province Ehsan Jahanian, according to Irna. “The United States armed forces have not carried out any new strikes in Iran in recent hours,” assured an American Defense official.
