Running water began to return on Thursday July 9, 2026, in Bamako, after massive cuts for several days due to an act of sabotage on a high voltage line which serves the capital from a dam on the border between Mali and Mauritania. The drinking water management company managed to obtain fuel oil to restart its turbines.
