
Lionsgate and Fathom Entertainment are bringing all five existing ones Hunger Gamesfilms back in cinemas. The films can be seen on the silver screen again from September 3 to 7, as a warm-up for the release of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (2026) in the fall.
Five days, five movies
In North American cinemas, every film gets its own day: The Hunger Games (2012) opens the series on September 3, followed by The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013) on September 4, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 (2014) on September 5 and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 (2015) on September 6. The series ends with The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (2023) on September 7. In the Netherlands this is compressed into one marathon day, which will be shown on September 6 and 7.
Exclusive sneak peeks
Both the North American and Dutch screenings include exclusive sneak peeks from The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The film is set 24 years before the events of the original Hunger Gamesfilm and follows a young Haymitch Abernathy during the Second Quarter Quell: the 50th Hunger Games, where each district must provide twice as many tributes.
Release date
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping will be on 19 november appear in Dutch cinemas.
